STRIPES

Hello again! It’s been a minute since I’ve shared my ideas. I needed some time to close a chapter of my life. So now, it’s time to get back on track and let my creative mind run again. Today I’d like to share something that I’ve always been attracted to but find it a bit on the trendy side. To me, stripes are a hit or miss. If done well, it can really create a great space. If not, it seems to create a mind maze. If I was to work on a space with stripes, I’d say go for the accent wall and stop there. Let it be the highlight of the space. Either way, you can’t go wrong with trying to add personality on your walls. Enjoy!

MOOD BOARD: WILD & FEMININE ENTRYWAY

If your looking for some entryway ideas on a budget, this may be of help. The inspiration photo features a grand white mirror, white console and a beautiful animal print ottoman. I gathered some items that captures the look and with a little DIY, you could get it closer to the image. Painting the mirror and console white will make it a lot similar but if you like espresso toned furniture, then your all set. Also, the prices for these items are definitely a bargain compared to luxury home stores. Don't forget the appealing table books. Enjoy!

BRIGHT & CHEERFUL RUGS

Happy Friday Everyone!

For the past couple of day's I've been looking for inspiration photo's with colorful rugs. I'm helping a good friend with her condo and I've gathered some photo's which have helped me throughout the process. Colorful rugs are bold and risky but it also brings cheer and allows you to mix and match colors throughout the space. I personally LOVE the combination of colors along with white walls and lovely flowers. Enjoy!

DIY: PAINT CHIP ART

Today I'd like to share a project that was fast, easy and cheap. All I needed was the frame and the rest I had at home. The paint chips are free of course at your local paint store or even Walmart. It's a unique and cute way to bring color and art into your home. Let's begin!

Ingredients:

1. Paint chips of your choice. An ombre effect is always nice or choose colors that match the room your going to place it in.

2. Any simple glue. I used a glue stick which worked well because I was able to rearrange the colors while they were sticky. I also wanted the paint chips to stand out for a little dimension.

3. A printer with white paper.

4. A picture frame. You can work with something new or old, small or big.

Recipe:

1. Experiment with your color layout.

2. Take photos of your layouts so you can choose which one makes the cut.

3. Start on the bottom right and work your way up by adding glue to each corner of each paint chip. Line the first one up and then use it as your guide to lining up the rest. When you add the second layer, overlap the previous row so the names of each color are covered up. This process will make it cleaner and easier than cutting them one by one.

4. Think of a word, name or phrase and cut out the letters. I printed the words on plain white paper and used a font size of 300. I also chose a periwinkle shade to get the white look and still have lines to follow while I cut the letters. I'd recommend printing the letters on thicker paper to have a similar thickness to the paint chips.

5. Once your done, it's time to frame. Make sure everything is clean before you close the back.

6. Remember to have fun. ENJOY!

THE CEILING

I can't tell you how many times I've stared at the ceiling and wondered what else could be done to make it better. Simplicity is always wonderful but sometimes taking things to another level might just make things more interesting. A friend of mine works in construction for casino's and told me that most of their ceiling details that involve "wood" are usually just them making the surface look like it. It's cheaper and safer I'd say. Below are some lovely ideas that may inspire some creativity. Enjoy!

IT'S FRIDAY!

Happy Friday everyone! Today I'm working on a graphic design project for a local company that asked for help. It's a bit different from interior design but definitely fun. As for the weekend, I have plans to watch the movie side effect, play tennis and hang out with my loved ones. What do you have planned?  Below is a snapshot of the project I'm working on. Have a great weekend!
